Internet Connectivity

Instore is a cloud-based point of sale system. This means that the data generated at your store is sent through an internet-connected network to be stored outside your store. For the cloud backup to work, your iPad running Instore must be connected to the internet.

The internet connectivity Instore currently supports is dependent on the iPad. Instore can connect through WiFi or cellular network on your iPad. Your store must have a WiFi network to connect to or a cellular network to take advantage of cloud-backup and viewing your sales on the online backend. If your iPad loses Internet connectivity, it will store transactions locally until Internet access is restored.

Instore also requires an active internet connection to process credit and gift cards. However, you can store transactions offline for online approval later with Instore’s Offline Processing feature.
