Using Instore with the Elo PayPoint®

Instore is designed to work with the Elo PayPoint® platform, an all-in-one mPOS solution that brings simplicity and elegance to your point of sale. The PayPoint platform is retail hardened and built to last with a three-year warranty. Your Instore product specialist can help you order a PayPoint or PayPoint Plus configured to work with your integrated processor.

If you are setting up a PayPoint, read on. If setting up a PayPoint Plus, skip ahead.

  1. Connect your PayPoint and iPad using the Quick Install guide
  2. Open the Instore app on your iPad. If Instore recognizes the device, you’ll hear this sound:

If you don’t hear that sound, force quit Instore (double click Home button and swipe up) then relaunch the app.

  3. Touch the Instore Settings gear then touch Receipt Printers. Elo PayPoint should be listed as a connected printer. Touch the device name and then Print test page to confirm printing is working (don’t forget to install printer paper!).
  4. Once you’ve confirmed printing, you can assign the device any Automatic printing roles you desire. This will ensure those receipts print out automatically on the PayPoint. Click here for help setting up Printer Roles
  5. While on the Edit Printer page, you can turn on the PayPoint bar code scanner if you plan to use barcode scanning.
  6. Set up your cash drawer by touching the Cash Management icon  on the left side of Instore. For help deciding which cash controls work best for you, consult this guide.
  7. Test a credit or gift card swipe from the Bill Screen to ensure the card reader is recognized and your device is configured properly. If you get a swipe error, contact support (855-568-3696, x2) for assistance.
